Castle of Neuschwanstein:
Neuschwanstein.

  • Adults 6.- € 
  • Children from 6-15 years 4,50 €
  • Over 65 s, members of German armed forces, pupils, students and the disabled on production of evidence
     € 4,50 Groups of  2O or more € 5,50
  • If the children are accompanied by parents and under  15 years, than they go in for
    free, if you ask.

Castle of  Hohenschwangau:
Hohenschwangau.

  • Adults € 6.-
  • Children from 6-15 years accompanied by parents
    € 4,50
  • Over 65 s, members of German armed forces, pupils, students and the disabled on production of evidence
    € 4,50
  • Groups of 2O or more € 4,50

Duration of guided tour approx. 35 minutes. Throughout the day there are guided tours with the commentaries spoken in English. Smoking and the taking of photographs are prohibited in the castles. The tour at the castle of Neuschwanstein involves climbing 165 steps upstairs and 181 Steps downwards.

Parking:

At the entry to Hohenschwangau village, car park A,B,C,D. By the Alpsee below Hohenschwangau castle, c & park E. All the car parks indicated are private car parks and parking fees are therefore payable.

Transport:

Horse-drawn carriages to Neuschschwanstein
castle from Hotel Müller and car park D.  Price uphill: € 4,--  Price downhill € 2,--

Carriage companies:

Josef Müller, O.Kotz,  J.Köpf,   H.Vogtmann,

Private busses run from Hotel Lisl, to the ,,Jugend" viewpoint. From there it is
about 15 minutes (650 meters) steep downhill walk to the entrance of
Neuschwanstein castle. (Not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties).

Price uphill:   2.-  €           Price downhill:    1.- €         Price up an downhill:  2,50 €.

From the viewpoint ,,Jugend" it is about 5 minutes walk to visit the Marienbrücke (with a nice view to the castle of Neuschwanstein)..

At the castle-desk guides of the castles printed in different languages are obtainable. Other literature is available in the souvenir-shops around the castle..
